The Existence of Topeng Ireng Sekar Sakti Rimba Art in Modern Society: Preservation Challenges and Technological Adaptation

This research looks at the difficulties of keepinh traditional arts alive while keeping up with new technology. It shows how important it is for art groups to be creative so that traditional perfomances stay meaningful and relevant in today’s world. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method and follows a case study structure, gathering information through observations, interviews, and, written records. The results indicate that the Topeng Ireng Sekar Sakti Rimba art group, based in Tengahan Hamlet, Nguwet Village, Kranggan District, Temanggung Regency, has used three main methods to keep their traditional art alive. They star by making sure the tradition stays alive by having regular training meetings, reaching out to the community, and bringing in fresh ideas and new methods. Second, they improve their perfomance by mixing traditional music with modern stayles like pop and dangdut, but they still keep the main values of Topeng Ireng. They also keep working on making the dance moves and outfits better. Third, they use digital technology to make the art known to more people. Their main way of using technology is by making the most of social media as a place to record, share, and learn. This study is expected to offer understanding on how Topeng Ireng Sekar Sakti Rimba remains relevant in the digital age and act as a useful guide for finding good ways to preserve it and use technology effectively, helping to keep this traditional art alive in the long term
