Analysis of the Song Nasib Sawahlunto Arranged by the Buana Lestari Sawahlunto Keroncong Orchestra

The Minang pop song Nasib Sawahlunto was created by Badrun and popularized by Anas Yusuf and the Gumarang Orchestra. The song Nasib Sawahlunto was rearranged by the Buana Lestari Keroncong Orchestra into a keroncong music style. The original musical arrangement uses modern musical instruments and uses diatonic tones. The form of the musical arrangement performed by the Buana Lestari Keroncong Orchestra in the song Nasib Sawahlunto adds traditional Minang musical instruments, namely the bansi and talempong. The purpose of this study is to look at the arrangement of the song Nasib Sawahlunto by the Buana Lestari Keroncong Orchestra. The method used is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis of data presentation. The results of this study indicate that there is ambivalence in the arrangement of the song Nasib Sawahlunto, which occurs a blend of pop music, keroncong, and tradition. Data collection was carried out based on observation, documentation, and interviews with artists.
